InSinkErator Premium 550 EC food waste disposer, air switch, 0.55 HP

Premium 550 EC is designed for small to medium households producing a moderate amount of food waste. It can process most food scraps, including chicken and fish bones, bread crusts, fruit cores and vegetable peelings.

Installation dimensions

The manufacturer’s drawing specifies at least 30 cm between the sink bowl bottom and the waste pipe. The distance from the sink bottom to the disposer outlet centre line is 15.2 cm; add 12.7 mm for stainless-steel sinks. Check the available installation space before choosing.

Use and care

The manufacturer advises against disposing of fibrous material such as banana skins, as this can damage the disposer mechanism. Keep fats, oils, harsh cleaning chemicals and non-food materials out of the disposer.

Switch off the disposer before removing its baffle for cleaning. Clean the underside and refit the baffle. InSinkErator’s freshening guidance includes running cold water and using ice cubes with lemon or lime pieces.
